Barneys New York not A "Barney"

Our family at Barneys New York (never use an apostrophe) made this whole capsule possible. Just wanted to clarify the definition between Barneys New York and a "Barney"

Barneys New York is a chain of upscale department stores headquartered in New York City, under the leadership of Fashion Director Julie Gilhart and Creative Director (and window-dresser) Simon Doonan. (Wikipedia.org)

A Barney is someone who doesn’t surf very well. The term was derived from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character Barney Rubble on “The Flintstones.” Usage: “Get out of my way, ya barney.” (Surfing magazine, 1989)

Check out the photos of our in store display at The Mens Co-Op in Beverly Hills (left) and Madison Ave (right).

We almost soiled our boardshorts when we heard that we were getting a window at the coveted Madison Flagship.
